Keyboard shortcuts

Press ⌘/ (Ctrl+/ on Windows and Linux) anywhere in Wikai to see the full cheat sheet, labelled for the keyboard you’re actually on. It’s also linked from Settings → App → Keyboard shortcuts.

Anywhere in the app

`⌘⇧N`	Quick Capture — jot into today’s note without leaving the view
`⌘N`	New note in this wiki, opened for editing
`⌘F`	Focus the search bar; Enter runs it as a concept search
`⌘J`	Show or hide the chat sidebar
`⌘L`	Focus the chat composer
`⌘E`	Edit this page (and return focus to an editor already open)
`⌘S`	Save and leave edit mode
`⌘⇧C`	Copy a link to this paragraph — in read mode, the paragraph your cursor or selection is in; with an editor open on another tab, insert it there instead. See Comments and highlights
`⌘,`	Settings
`⌘1`–`⌘9`	Focus a tab — 1 is the navigation tab, 2 onwards the fixed pages
`⌘⇧T`	Reopen the most recently closed tab
`Alt+←` / `⌘[`	Back

`⌘Click`, middle-click	Open in a new tab

These work while you’re typing, too — a shortcut that only fires when no text field has focus is a shortcut you can’t rely on. (⌘⇧C is the exception: it waits until you’re not typing, since it reads from your cursor’s paragraph.) The Edit and Done buttons in a page’s title bar show ⌘E and ⌘S beside their labels.

While editing a page

`⌘K`	Link the selection to a page — creating the page if it doesn’t exist
`[[`	Open the page picker inline, at the caret
`⌘B` / `⌘I` / `⌘U`	Bold, italic, underline
`Esc` or `⌘⏎`	Finish an inline formula and return to the prose

In a comment

These aren’t in the cheat sheet yet; the card’s own hint line names them. See Comments and highlights.

`⌘⏎`, `Esc`	Close the card — it has already saved as you typed; `Esc` on a brand-new, empty card discards it
`⌘K`	Link a page from inside the comment — creating the page if it doesn’t exist

In a dialog, picker or panel

Keys	Does
`↑` `↓`	Move the selection
`Enter`	Choose the highlighted item, or send what you’ve typed
`Esc`	Close — or step back out of a search before it clears
`Tab` / `↓`	Choose which wiki a capture goes to
`⌘⏎`	Capture as a follow-up rather than a plain note
`⌘C`	Copy the focused row’s link in the Connections panel
