Work documents

A work document tracks a piece of research over time. It holds a goal, a definition-of-done checklist, a progress log the agent keeps, and the pages the work has touched. They live under work/ in your wiki.

Start research

Open the Research page for a wiki and click New Research. The chat sidebar opens and the agent drafts a plan with you — a title, a goal, a definition-of-done checklist, and the sources it would start from — without creating anything yet.

Iterate in the chat until you’re happy, then type GO. Wikai creates the work document on disk. (The agent may also propose switching an ordinary chat into research mode when a question looks big enough.)

Follow progress

The Research page lists your active work documents, each with a status (active, blocked, or done) and a progress bar over the definition-of-done items. Open one to read its body, or jump back into its bound chat to keep going.

Steer it

Open a work document’s chat and just say what you want changed — “narrow the goal to the 1950s”, say — then type GO again to update the plan. You can flip status between active, blocked, and done from the document page.
